Trump is melting down and lashing out

Three steps doesn’t mean it’s not oppression

This week has seen a cascade of attacks on free speech culminating in the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel after threats by FCC Commissioner Brandon Carr that ABC could “do it the easy way or the hard way.” On Air Force One Trump threatened all of the networks for what he says is 97% negative “publicity” about him.

Aside from that being yet another made up statistic it’s grossly illegal and violates the First Amendment. It doesn’t matter if in the end a private company decided to make the firing official, it began with a government official threatening them to do so.

Three steps away doesn’t make it any less of an overt act of free speech attack by the government. As I often say…we had a whole ass revolution about this stuff.

I sit down with renowned journalist Greg Sargent of The New Republic to discuss his perspective and reporting on these increasingly threatening acts of authoritarianism, what is happening, and how Democrats can fight back now and in the future on the latest ‘On Democracy with FPWellman.’

It airs live on the MeidasTouch network now and you can catch it here now.
